Tyee is a delightful riverfront pavilion perfect for company functions, family reunions and even weddings. It faces the main stem of the Umpqua River and is ideal for a day of fun, food and water activities. The pavilion is located inside the Tyee campground, which is a first come, first served facility. The Umpqua River Recreation Area has no shortage of recreational activities, ranging from horseback riding to birding and whitewater rafting. Wildlife viewing in the area includes deer, bald eagles, osprey and a herd of elk that populates the region in the fall. |

The day use pavilion accommodates up to 50 guests, with six large picnic tables, a long serving counter, sink, electrical outlets and a large barbecue grill. There's a neighboring grassy area with horseshoe pits and extra room for picnicking. For visitors wishing to stay overnight, Eagleview is a mile away and a good option for reservable group camping. |

A deposit of $50 is required upon reserving the Tyee Pavilion. The deposit will be refunded dependent upon completion of a satisfactory inspection conducted after checkout and if ALL rules listed below are followed. Refunds may take up to two weeks to be credited back. Groups that charge a fee or advertise for their event may be required to obtain a special recreation permit. Please visit here or contact Roseburg BLM at 541-440-4930 for more information. Pavilion check-in time is at 10:00 am and must be fully vacated ½ hour after sunset. Overnight camping is prohibited. A group size limit of 50 people will be enforced. Excessive noise and drunkenness will not be tolerated. Props for activities may be used if they are not attached to buildings, trees or dug into the ground. Hooks are located at intervals on the upper beams of the pavilion. All types of confetti (including rice, straw, wood chips, bird seed, silly string, etc.) are not allowed. The pavilion and other day-use areas must be cleaned before leaving; Pick up all trash, including cigarette butts and place into the dumpsters; Remove all directional signs on and off site. Upon arrival, contact the campground host near the pavilion for further assistance and instructions. Failure to abide these rules may result in a portion or all of your deposit to be forfeited. |

West of Elkton is the Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area, where spotting majestic Roosevelt Elk near the roadway is almost guaranteed. The Pacific Coast is roughly 50 miles from Tyee. |

Head upstream, then kayak or canoe down to the pavilion for some food and relaxation. Fishing, especially for steelhead and salmon, is very popular in the Umpqua River. For a more casual afternoon, a round of horseshoe on the grounds of the pavilion is also very fun. |
